July 21st: Launch of the Second Graduation Projects Marathon at Benha University

Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced the launch of the university's second Graduation Projects Marathon under the slogan "We Invest in Knowledge" on July 21st, 2025. This initiative aligns with the presidential campaign "Alliance and Development", contributes to the "Be Prepared" initiative under the slogan "One Million Qualified Innovators", and reflects Benha University's commitment to implementing the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research 2030.
Prof. El-Gizawy highlighted the marathon's themes:
1. Technical & Engineering:
• Fields: AI systems, machine learning, IoT applications (industry/agriculture), robotics, mobile/web app development, Cybersecurity, blockchain, renewable energy (solar/wind).
2. Medical & Biological:
• Fields: Smart medical devices (e.g., AI-powered prosthetics), genetic data analysis, computational drug design, biotechnology.
3. Industrial & Production:
• Fields: Sustainable food supply chains, organic waste conversion, animal disease detection, automated production lines, eco-friendly materials, smart agriculture.
4. Economic & Administrative:
• Fields: Big data for economic decisions, AI-driven accounting systems, feasibility studies for investments, digital banking.
Prof. Jehan Abdel Hadi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, added:
5. Social & Developmental:
• Fields: Solutions for population growth/unemployment, e-learning platforms, social media impact studies, cultural heritage/tourism projects.
6. Environmental & Sustainability:
• Fields: Pollution monitoring, green energy, water resource management, AI/IoT for sustainability, tech solutions for environmental justice.
7. Artistic & Creative:
• Fields: Eco-friendly smart architecture, educational games, animation/short films.
Prof. Ayman Samir, Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, outlined participation criteria:
• Teams of 3–5 final-year students with faculty-approved graduation projects and academic supervision.
• Projects must align with marathon themes, include prototypes/simulations, demonstrate innovation, and show societal/environmental impact.
Prizes per theme:
• 1st Place: 10,000 EGP (Ten Thousand Egyptian Pounds)
• 2nd Place: 8,000 EGP (Eight Thousand Egyptian Pounds)
• 3rd Place: 6,000 EGP (Six Thousand Egyptian Pounds)
