Benha University witnessed a boom and diversity in the implementation of student activities during the academic year 2024-2025, within the framework of the Egyptian state's vision and the political leadership's interest in youth as the energy of the future, and based on the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to support student activities as one of the pillars of building an integrated university personality.
Prof. Nasser El Gizawy, President of Benha University, stated that 1,667 diverse projects and activities were implemented during the period from September 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, under the supervision of the General Administration of Youth Welfare.
He pointed out that the university places student activities at the forefront of its strategic priorities, and works to support all initiatives that enhance students' talents and develop their leadership and creative abilities, making them effective elements in serving the community.
El-Gizawy added that the activities covered cultural, artistic, sports, scientific, technological, social, and public service fields, in addition to student families and foreign students. A series of national events were implemented, including the University Theater Festival, which presented creative performances that embodied national and social issues with a distinguished student spirit, in addition to choral and religious chanting competitions that showcased promising young voices, in addition to organizing fine arts workshops and applied arts exhibitions that expressed the students' artistic creativity.
For her part, Prof. Jihan Abdel Hadi, Vice President for Graduate Studies, highlighted the university's commitment to making student activities an integral part of the educational process. She thanked Dr. Khaled Esawy, General Coordinator of Student Activities at the university, and Mr. Ibrahim Abdullah, Director General of the General Administration of Youth Welfare, for their efforts in organizing various activities and events.
Dr. Karim Hamam, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Student Activities and Director of the Leadership Institute, added that the university has presented a successful model for integrating innovation, culture, and sports into a comprehensive student experience.
With this vision, Benha University confirms its commitment to building the Egyptian individual in line with the state's vision, through a renewed university environment that fosters the spirit of initiative and creativity, and opens broader horizons for students to become future leaders. It is worth noting that in the cultural field, events were organized to commemorate national and religious occasions, seminars were held to raise intellectual awareness, and literary competitions were held in poetry, short stories, and essays, as well as the Cultural Information League, which instilled a culture of positive competition and knowledge acquisition.
The academic activities included organizing scientific and innovation forums aimed at stimulating creative thinking, in addition to specialized workshops on artificial intelligence, scientific research techniques, and software, as well as robotics and invention competitions that highlighted students' applied thinking skills.
Sports activities witnessed a wide-ranging activity, including the organization of internal championships and various sports leagues, including athletics, fitness, football, volleyball, and table tennis. The university also actively participated in national championships, achieving advanced positions.
The university also supported students with disabilities by engaging them in dedicated sports, artistic, and social activities, reinforcing the concept of positive integration on campus.
On the social side, medical and service convoys were organized for the neediest villages, along with field visits to historical and cultural landmarks, and field trips for student families to foster a sense of belonging and teamwork. Ramadan gatherings, religious competitions, and group Iftar parties were also organized, along with important awareness campaigns on combating addiction, violence against women, and cyberbullying, all of which contributed to raising awareness among students.
