Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, presented the achievements of the university across various levels, both in global rankings and in internal and community activities during the academic year 2024-2025. Among the most notable achievements are:
Academic Level and Global Rankings:
Benha University has achieved high positions in several prestigious global rankings, such as the British Times Ranking and the American U.S. News Ranking, where it ranked among the top 1000 universities worldwide and was classified for the first time globally in the British QS Ranking.
The university ranked 351st globally and third locally in the Green Metric Ranking for 2025, reflecting its commitment to environmental sustainability. The university advanced 23 international positions in the U.S. News Ranking for 2025-2026, ranking 18th in Africa and 10th among Egyptian universities.
Publication of Scientific Research:
The university published over 1900 scientific papers in international journals and received more than 24 projects, including development and research projects funded by the Project Management Unit at the Ministry of Higher Education, the Academy of Scientific Research, and the Science, Technology, and Innovation Funding Authority, reflecting the university's efforts in scientific research.
Internal and Community Level:
Infrastructure Development: The university invested over 500 million Egyptian pounds in construction projects and the latest equipment to serve students and the residents of Qalyubia Governorate.
Development of University Hospitals:
The development of the surgery building at the university hospital was inaugurated, increasing the number of beds to 216. Additionally, 10 acres were allocated for the establishment of Benha Technology University at the university's site in Al-Obour City, which will include four faculties and 27 academic programs. The Supreme Council of Universities also approved the establishment of Benha Wuhan College for Graduate Studies to grant dual degrees for diplomas, master's, and doctoral programs in nursing, international trade, geographic information systems, and remote sensing.
Literacy Campaign:
The university has eradicated illiteracy for more than 4000 citizens and provided medical examinations for over 8000 others through 47 medical convoys organized by the university for the most needy villages and schools in Qalyubia Governorate, alongside various agricultural and veterinary convoys and family counseling convoys.
Digital Transformation: New technological applications were introduced at the university as part of the digital transformation system, contributing to the development of the services provided.
Supporting Graduates: The university opened the University Center for Career Development to prepare graduates for the job market and organized several employment forums that provided over 1000 training opportunities and 1500 job opportunities through participating companies.
Student Activities:
More than 1600 initiatives and student activities were implemented during the year, and university students achieved advanced positions in various local, regional, and international competitions and student activities, reflecting the university's interest in developing students' skills and building their personalities.
Development of Colleges:
12 new academic programs were introduced in several university faculties to meet labor market demands and future job opportunities. Six programs received program accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education. Additionally, several new construction projects were initiated to improve student capacity and enhance the learning environment on campus, including a central lecture hall complex in Kafr Saad, a building for the Faculty of Applied Arts, a building for the Faculty of Specific Education, a semi-Olympic swimming pool, a sports services complex, and a permanent camp for Benha University students in Sidi Abdel Rahman in Matrouh, along with the completion of infrastructure and equipment for the central laboratories complex, as well as annual maintenance work at the university's faculties and dormitories. Furthermore, 15 elevators were supplied and installed in the university's faculties, and the electrical capacity of the Kafr Saad campus was raised to 8 megawatts to meet the needs of new facilities, while natural gas is being connected to the campus.
Investment in Graduation Projects: The university established a platform for graduation projects aimed at maximizing the benefits of the practical projects carried out by students, marketing them, and utilizing them through the Bidaya Company for marketing Benha University services.
In summary, Benha University is working to enhance its position as a leading university in Egypt and the region, contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals.
