Prof. Nasser Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced the efforts of the university's Community Service and Environmental Development Sector during the past period as part of the "Bidaya" initiative launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to build the Egyptian citizen.
Prof. Gizawy stated in a report issued by the university's media office that 46 free medical convoys were organized, during which 8851 cases were examined and free treatment was provided, in addition to referring some cases to the university hospital and providing glasses for school students and Al-Azhar institute students.
Regarding family guidance convoys, the Faculties of Nursing and Physical Therapy organized 9 awareness convoys that benefited 744 citizens from various villages in the governorate.
13 veterinary convoys were organized in the villages of the governorate centers, providing veterinary services to 27,389 livestock, especially for 1,279 farmers. As for agricultural convoys, the Faculty of Agriculture organized 4 agricultural convoys in the villages of Benha Center to provide awareness and agricultural guidance to farmers, benefiting 91 farmers. Sports convoys were also organized through 11 sports convoys in villages and youth centers in the governorate, benefiting 1,143 young men and women.
For awareness and educational convoys, the faculties of "Science, Commerce, Arts, and Education" participated in organizing 16 awareness and educational convoys in the villages and cities of the governorate, benefiting 1,593 individuals, including women, men, and youth.
Prof. Gizawy added that the university also organized workshops for handicrafts through the Faculties of "Applied Arts and Specific Education," where 12 workshops for handicrafts were held, benefiting 1,096 individuals.
He noted that 7,546 learners were taught to read and write during the 2024/2025 academic year, according to reports from the General Authority for Adult Education. He also mentioned that 5 exhibitions for clothing and the sale of products and food items were organized, and cooperation protocols were signed with 30 educational, economic, and community institutions.
Prof. Nasser Gizawy affirmed that Benha University continues to organize many interdisciplinary convoys and activities aimed at community development as part of the presidential initiative "A New Beginning to Build the Citizen," in the villages and centers to contribute to improving the quality of life and ensuring the health of citizens as a fundamental pillar for sustainable development.
Prof. Gizawy emphasized that Benha University seeks to achieve integration between education and community service, which is key to achieving comprehensive development, in line with the state's vision for sustainable development "Egypt Vision 2030."
