To Establish the First Joint Laboratory Between Benha University and China: University Vice President Receives Delegation from China's Hubei Province

Under the patronage of Prof.Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, Dr. Gehan Abdel Hadi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, received Dr. Feng Yanfei, Head of the Education and Technology Sector of China's Hubei Province, and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Hazem Aliewa, Academic Director of the University's Obour Branch and Principal Investigator of the project.
Prof. Gehan Abdel Hadi highlighted that the meeting explored avenues of cooperation between Benha University and Hubei Province in scientific research and the establishment of additional joint research laboratories in collaboration with Chinese universities. She emphasized the ongoing cooperation between Benha University and Chinese universities in various scientific research fields, student exchanges, and the signing of agreements with institutions such as Huazhong Agricultural University, Beijing Institute of Technology, and Wuhan University of Technology, in addition to the establishment of the Wuhan Graduate School at the University's Obour Branch.
The Vice President explained that the collaboration focuses on exchanging expertise and research, providing Master's and Ph.D. scholarships, conducting post-doctoral research, and training students at Chinese universities to enhance their competitive skills.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Prpf. Feng presented a plaque commemorating the first joint international laboratory between Egypt and China in the field of biosafety, under the framework of China's Belt and Road Initiative.
This laboratory is one of the outcomes of the joint international research project between Benha University and Huazhong Agricultural University, funded by the Chinese Ministry of Education and Technology and the Egyptian Science and Technology Development Fund.
Dr. Hazem Aliewa stated that this laboratory serves as a foundation for providing research grants from the Chinese side, allowing the Egyptian team from Benha University to travel to China for joint research with their Chinese counterparts. This initiative aims to enhance the research capabilities of the University's members and promote the publication of joint international research in prestigious scientific journals, directly contributing to the University's elevated ranking.
