President of Benha University and Head of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Launch the "New Beginning for Quality Education Assurance" Initiative

Prof.Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, and Prof.Dr. Alaa Ashmawey, Head of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation, inaugurated the seminar titled "The Role of Benha University Students in the Quality of the Educational Process." This event marks the launch of the "New Beginning for Quality Education Assurance" initiative, organized by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation under the patronage of the Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly.
The opening was attended by Prof.Dr. Gehan Abdel Hadi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof.Dr. Hisham Abdel Nasser, Executive Director of the Initiative; Prof.Dr. Mohamed Ghanem, Director of the Quality Assurance Center at the University; Dr. Hussein Khater, Coordinator of the Initiative's Training Plan; directors of quality units at the university; and participating students.
For his part , Prof.Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy emphasized that the "New Beginning for Quality Education Assurance" initiative and student participation represent a pioneering step toward a better future for education in Egypt. He also noted that Benha University adopts student-centered education strategies, considering students an essential part of the educational process. The University is committed to offering distinguished programs to enhance employment opportunities at all levels, investing not only in faculty members but also in students, training them on quality systems in education.
El-Gizawy added that Benha University's participation in the initiative aligns with its efforts to develop students' capabilities and support the state's plans for education quality and human development, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030.
He also extended his gratitude to the Head of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation for the support provided to Benha University and educational institutions, as well as for developing and updating accreditation standards to keep pace with global advancements.
On the other hand ,Dr. Alaa Ashmawey expressed his delight at being at Benha University to launch this student-centered initiative. He explained that the primary goal of the initiative is to disseminate a culture of quality within the University community, focusing on achieving tangible quality and practical applications on the ground.
Dr. Ashmawey also emphasized that the concept of education quality is based on the principle of continuous improvement and development. He highlighted that students are the focal point of the educational process, as they are its ultimate product. Therefore, they must be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for the job market, along with the ability for continuous self-learning to develop their competencies over time.
Prof.Dr. Gehan Abdel Hadi added that the "New Beginning for Quality Education Assurance" initiative contributes to enhancing the educational process and strengthening the role of students as essential partners in the development and improvement system. She stated that education quality is no longer an option but an imperative necessity driven by rapid changes. This initiative underscores the University's commitment to academic excellence, ensuring educational outcomes that meet labor market needs and fulfill students' aspirations. The initiative aims to empower students to actively participate in academic evaluation and development activities, raise awareness of quality culture and requirements within the university, and enhance communication channels between administration and students to ensure a stimulating learning environment.
Dr. Hisham Abdel Nasser, Executive Director of the Initiative, expressed his pride in being at Benha University, noting that the university, with its esteemed history and growing academic stature, is a cornerstone of Egypt's higher education system. It continues its mission of building human capital, serving society, and graduating competencies capable of competing regionally and internationally. The selection of Benha University as a stop for this initiative was no coincidence but a recognition of its outstanding contributions to promoting a culture of quality and institutional excellence.
Prof.Dr. Mohamed Ghanem, Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center at the University, pointed out that the initiative aims to activate the role of university students in ensuring education quality, disseminating a culture of quality, and elevating education through workshops organized by the authority and offered to students. These workshops provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to become ambassadors of quality within the University.
