During his presidency of the Benha University Council: "El-Gizawy" praises the quality of scientific research outputs and emphasizes the importance of investing in knowledge

Benha University Council held its meeting under the chairmanship of Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, and in the presence of Prof. Jehan Abdel Hadi, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and the esteemed members of the University Council .At the beginning of the session, Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy honored the faculties that won the internal excellence competition and are nominated to represent the University in the 2026 Egypt Government Excellence Award. He confirmed that Benha University strives to achieve institutional excellence in all fields, both at the individual and organizational levels, noting that this success is a direct result of the actual application of governance concepts and performance quality, which the university works to establish and continuously improve across its various sectors. He also pointed to the establishment of an internal excellence unit at the University .Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy announced the launch of an Artificial Intelligence course as part of the University's graduation requirements to keep pace with the digital transformation witnessed by the Egyptian state in various sectors, in light of achieving the sustainable development goals and Egypt's 2030 vision.

The Council also approved the addition of a "Etiquette" course (the art of dealing with others) to develop the necessary skills for successfully dealing with the different patterns of university personnel, while enhancing self-confidence and dealing with kindness and respect towards others, as part of Benha University's care for the health of the university community and the surrounding society .
The University President praised the quality of scientific research outputs and their impact on the university's ranking, as the university appeared in the Shanghai Subject Ranking 2025 among the world's best universities in the fields of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences in the life sciences sector, and Mathematics in the natural sciences sector. It was also ranked for the first time this year in Communication Engineering in the engineering sciences sector, in addition to Food Science and Technology, and Scientific and Technological Instruments. The University also advanced in the scientific impact indicator of the Dutch "Leiden" ranking (CWTS Leiden University) in both its traditional and open versions for 2025. Furthermore, Benha University maintained its position among the top universities in the world in the British Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Subjects ranking 2026, and appeared in the QS Sustainability ranking 2026, where the university was placed at rank 685 among 2,002 universities worldwide included in the ranking this year, an increase of 258 universities from the previous release .
"El-Gizawy" called on the University community to invest in knowledge, which ultimately serves the quality of academic and research outputs, and to work towards making the university a leading model for Egyptian universities in education, scientific research, university and community life, and within its keenness to be among the best universities in the Middle East and to achieve international excellence .
During the session, the University President indicated that judicial rulings related to linking incentives, allowances, and bonuses to the 2016 base salary, amounting to approximately 100 million Egyptian pounds over the past two years, have been implemented. This is part of the University's ongoing efforts to enhance the principles of transparency and commitment to implementing various judicial rulings .
