Shubra Engineering Wins First Place in the Arab Biotech Innovation Competition 2025

Prof.Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced that the team from the Faculty of Engineering at Shubra has won first place in the Arab Biotech Innovation Competition 2025. The competition was held as part of the 11th Arab Conference on Biotechnology at the National Research Centre in Egypt and was organized by the Arab Association of Biotechnology, one of the scientific associations emanating from the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils.
El-Gizawy congratulated the winning students, emphasizing that Benha University is keen to encourage students to participate positively in all competitions and various events. He added that this achievement reflects the significant excellence of the students of the Faculty of Engineering at Shubra in competing at the highest levels.
For his part, Prof.Dr. Mohamed Said, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Shubra, stated that the faculty's team won with the project "Rehelper," which is an integrated project for rehabilitating physical therapy patients using innovative techniques that contribute to developing the treatment system and improving patients' quality of life.
The Dean added that the project team included: Student Kanzari Walid Sorour, who also received the title of Best Presenter for the team due to her excellence in presenting the project before the judging committee; Student Ziyad Abdel Hakim Abdel Maqsoud; Student Arwa Sayed Abdel Moneim; Student Hagar Salah El-Din; Student Sarah Ibrahim; Student George Emil Sadeq; under the supervision of Dr. Lamiaa El-Refaei.
It is mentioned that this event is a specialized scientific platform that brings together experts and researchers from various Arab and foreign countries to present the latest developments and challenges in the fields of health, pharmacy, agriculture, environment, industry, bioinformatics, and artificial intelligence applications in life sciences.
