Continuing its commitment to community and service outreach, Benha University has persisted in organizing various convoys across villages in the governorate.
Under the patronage of Prof.Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of the University; Prof.Dr. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof.Dr. Mahmoud El-Za'balawy, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, the Faculty of Agriculture organized an agricultural convoy in the village of Tanan, Qalyub Center.
Prof.Dr. Ehab Fareed, the Faculty's Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, stated that the convoy was coordinated with Ms. Rania Mo'taz, the University's Assistant Secretary for Community Service and Environmental Development. It aimed to discuss the most pressing issues facing farmers in the village and service operations during the cultivation of field crops.
The Convoy also addressed agricultural pest control, treatment methods, and preventive spraying; the impact of climate change on agricultural crops and production; preparations for wheat cultivation and the best planting methods and post-planting care. Additionally, problems facing crops such as onions and garlic and how to overcome them were discussed.
Participating in the convoy were several faculty members from the College of Agriculture: Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Saad, Professor of Crops; Dr. Yasser Abdelghany El-Gazzar, Lecturer in the Horticulture Department; Dr. Fathy Gamal Hammouda, Assistant Lecturer in the Horticulture Department; and Mr. Mohamed Suleiman Mahmoud, Occupational Health and Safety Officer at the college.
