Benha University's Textile Technology Lab Accredited by National Council EGAC According to International ISO/IEC Standards

Prof. Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced the accreditation of the Textile Technology Laboratory at the university's Faculty of Applied Arts by the National Accreditation Council (EGAC) in accordance with **international ISO/IEC standards**, which operates under the Ministry of Industry.
"El-Gizawy" stated that the lab's accreditation aligns with the university's institutional quality performance policy and its commitment to achieving the highest levels of quality in the services provided by its various laboratories and research centers.
It is worth noting that the project to develop and qualify the Textile Technology Laboratory for international accreditation was funded by the Ministry of Higher Education and Benha University, with funding exceeding three million Egyptian pounds. It aims to serve civil society, scientific research, and the educational process.
The laboratory provides a number of available tests and measurements, including:
Tensile strength and durability testing for various fibers and fabrics using the following standards:
ISO 13934-1:2013, ISO 2062:2009.
Color fastness measurement for dyed and printed fabrics and fibers at different wavelengths using the standard:
AATCC EP14-2021e.
Measurement of ultraviolet (UV) permeability for various dyed, printed, and UV-protective-treated fabrics and textiles using the standard:
AATCC 183.
Color fastness testing for dyed and printed materials against washing processes for all types of fibers and fabrics using the standard:
ISO 105-C06:2010.
Measurement of pH value (acidity and alkalinity) for various liquids, especially printing, dyeing, and finishing solutions, using a pH meter and pH electrode.
Additionally, the laboratory conducts:
Fixation of synthetic dyes on textile fibers under high pressure and heat using an Autoclave.
Homogeneous immersion and squeezing of various textile fibers and fabrics in solutions for different finishing processes using a Laboratory wringer padder.
Dyeing of all types of textile fibers and fabrics using a Dyeing machine.
Color fastness testing for rubbing (dry and wet) on all types of textile fibers and fabrics using a Crockmeter, in accordance with the standard Color fastness to rubbing ISO.
