The University President reviews a report on the achievements of the 2025 academic year and commends the smooth progress of the first semester exams.
Benha University's council held its meeting under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, and in the presence of Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Qalyubia; Prof. Dr. Gehan Abdel Hady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. Dr. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and the esteemed members of the University Council.
Prof.Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy began the session by extending congratulations, on behalf of the University Council, to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the approaching occasion of the new Gregorian year. He prayed to the Almighty to bestow upon our beloved Egypt and its great people more progress, advancement, and prosperity.
The President of Benha University opened the council's proceedings by welcoming Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Qalyubia, praising the cooperation between the University and the Governorate. He emphasized the strong relationship between the governorate and the university, highlighting that the university serves as its expert arm to provide the best services to citizens.
For his part, the Governor of Qalyubia, in his speech, affirmed that the current year has witnessed a tangible leap in the completion rates of developmental projects across the governorate. He valued the strategic partnership with Benha University as the advisory arm that ensures projects are implemented according to the highest scientific standards. He explained that this complementary relationship has directly contributed to advancing the path of sustainable development and improving the quality of services provided to citizens across various sectors.
The governor invited the university to work on raising student awareness and highlighting the scale of achievements being accomplished by the Egyptian state, in addition to showcasing the unique potentials that Qalyubia possesses as a leading agricultural and industrial hub. He indicated that the strategic goal for the upcoming phase is to instill a sense of pride among the youth in their Egyptian identity, by presenting the "beautiful image" of the governorate and the promising opportunities and bright future it holds.
On another note, the University President extended congratulations to the Christian brethren on the occasion of the glorious Christmas celebration, affirming Benha University's constant keenness to share in the celebrations of our Christian brothers, reinforcing feelings of brotherhood and the spirit of love among the sons of the beloved nation.
Prof.Dr.Nasser El-Gizawy also congratulated Prof.Dr.Taha Ashour on the confidence of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the issuance of a republican decree appointing him as Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, wishing him continued success in his new duties.
The University President further congratulated Prof.Dr. Mohamed Mansour on the issuance of a decision assigning him to facilitate the duties of the Dean of the Faculty of Law, extending thanks to Prof.Dr. Reda Abdel Halim for his contributions during two terms as dean of the faculty.
"El-Gizawy" congratulated Prof.Dr. Gehan Abdel Hadi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof.Dr. Naglaa Fikry, Director of the University's Center for Developing Faculty Staff Capabilities, on the accreditation of the center as a certified training center by the National Training Center for Leadership Preparation of the Supreme Council of Universities.
He also congratulated Prof.Dr. Osama Nada, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts, on the accreditation of the college's Textile Technology Laboratory by the National Accreditation Council (EGAC) according to international specifications ISO/IEC, affiliated with the Ministry of Industry.
Prof.Dr.Nasser El-Gizawy commended the smooth conduct of the first semester examinations, the provision of all means of comfort for students, and all necessary services to ensure the exams proceed safely and in an orderly manner, providing a secure environment and suitable atmosphere for students to take their exams. He pointed out the importance of conducting daily grading processes promptly and announcing the first semester results by the end of next January at the latest, and opening the grievance window after the results are announced according to the rules approved by the University Council.
On another front, the University President reviewed the University's annual report for the 2025 academic year and the achievements made during it. He also reviewed a report on the University's internationalization, including developments in the number of international students over the past years, international cooperation agreements and their activation, faculty and student exchange programs between the University and international universities, the development of international scientific publication rates in globally classified journals, improvements in international ranking indicators, and the University's visual identity and its role in enhancing the University's global presence.
