Prof.Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, received members of the Computer Science and Informatics Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities. The delegation was headed by Dr. Mohamed Essam Khalifa, Chairman of the Committee, and Dr. Hala Helmy Zayed, Secretary of the Committee.
The reception was attended by Dr. Ismail Abdel Hamid Taha, former Governor of Damietta and a full-time professor at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport; Dr. Abada Ahmed Abada Sarhan, President of Future University; Dr. Sherin Mohamed Abdel Qader Abdel Raouf, President of the Electronics Research Institute and Chairman of the Board of the City of Science and Technology for Electronics Research and Industry; Dr. Karam Abdel Ghany, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence at Benha University; Dr. Shady El-Mashad, Director of Programs at the Faculty of Computer Science, Benha National University; along with other committee members. This was on the sidelines of the committee's convening at Benha University.
Prof.Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy welcomed the members of the Computer Science and Informatics Sector Committee to the university. The committee includes experts and esteemed Egyptian professors representing all higher and university education institutions in the fields of computer science and informatics. He expressed his pleasure at Benha University hosting the sector committee, emphasizing the importance of the computer and informatics sector, especially amidst the tremendous development in digital transformation technologies, information technology, artificial intelligence, and autonomous systems, which have become the language of the era.
"El-Gizawy" affirmed the role of the Computer Science and Informatics Sector Committees of the Supreme Council of Universities as a fundamental pillar for ensuring and developing the quality of computer science and informatics education in Egypt. He pointed out that the university has introduced many new programs within the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence, which consider the modern changes in scientific specializations and the needs and requirements of the labor market.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Essam Khalifa emphasized that the sector committee works on periodically reviewing and developing curricula and educational programs to ensure they keep pace with the latest scientific developments and labor market needs. It contributes to evaluating the quality of computer science and informatics education in Egyptian universities through field visits and assessing the performance of faculty members, curricula, and infrastructure, in addition to enhancing cooperation among Egyptian universities in the field of computer science and informatics.
