“Prof. Al-Gizawy”: Benha University is an expertise house for the governorate for all its development and service projects.
Engineer Ayman Atya, the Governor of Kalyobiya, and Prof. Nasser Al-Gizawy, President of Benha University, signed a joint cooperation protocol between both parties in various fields to achieve sustainable development goals and serve the community.
This event was attended by Prof. Gehan Abdel-Hadi, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President of Benha University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Mrs. Sherin Shawky, Secretary General of the University, Prof. Mohamed Fawzy, Assistant Governor for Projects and Investment, Prof. Hazem Ibrahim, Head of the Central Administration for the Governor's Office, and Mr. Ibrahim Jouda, Supervisor of the Media Office at Benha University.
Engineer Ayman Atya expressed his happiness at signing the cooperation protocol with Benha University and the full coordination and fruitful collaboration between the governorate and the university in various activities and projects. He indicated that the cooperation and joint work with the university is a successful model for integration between executive and academic institutions, contributing effectively to achieving comprehensive development through the centers and academic expertise that Benha University offers.
Prof. Nasser Al-Gizawy confirmed that the signing of the protocol by Benha University stems from its community role and its ongoing efforts to harness all its centers and scientific and research capabilities to support development and service projects in Kalyobiya Governorate, considering it a house of expertise that includes the best specialists in all fields. He emphasized the university's commitment to strengthening ties with the executive apparatus of the governorate across all sectors to achieve comprehensive development for the citizens of Kalyobiya.
The cooperation protocol includes engineering projects and infrastructure (planning, design, supervision, technical studies) through which the university will provide scientific and technical consultations to the governorate in various sectors. Additionally, it will involve the participation of the governorate's experts in practical and applied activities at the university, preparing technical reports and feasibility studies for development projects. The protocol also covers areas of cooperation to improve health and environmental services, conduct environmental impact assessments and carbon footprint studies, support public health and occupational safety programs, collaborate on digital transformation and smart governance projects, develop geographic information systems and databases for the governorate, train personnel on using modern technologies, support business incubators and startups, encourage student innovation linked to local issues, and organize competitions and exhibitions for innovation and entrepreneurship.
The cooperation includes education, training, and capacity building through organizing joint training programs for employees of the governorate and students, providing opportunities for practical field training for university students within the governorate's sectors, and developing curricula and educational programs in line with local labor market needs. It also encompasses scientific research and applied studies by conducting research and studies that serve the development plans of the governorate, creating shared databases to support decision-makers, and jointly funding priority local research projects.
In the area of community development and environmental service, the cooperation includes implementing joint development, medical, and environmental caravans, collaborating in local and social development (village development, youth and women empowerment, small projects), participating in community awareness campaigns related to health and the environment, supporting community initiatives and volunteer work, and cooperating in environmental sustainability and waste and energy management. Additionally, it involves organizing joint cultural, artistic, and sports events to preserve the cultural heritage of the governorate and support student activities with a community dimension.
