Prof. Gehan Abdel Hady emphasized the importance of the conference as a scientific platform for serious dialogue, exchanging experiences, and proposing new visions that contribute to linking scientific research with community issues and development plans. She noted that Benha University places significant importance on the sector of postgraduate studies and scientific research, believing that scientific research is the primary driver of development and future building.
The Vice President added that sustainable development is no longer the responsibility of a single specialty but has become the result of a genuine integration between the humanities, which provide an understanding of humanity and society, and technological sciences, which offer tools and innovations capable of driving change.
Prof. Hisham Azmy reviewed the various responsibilities of the office, including establishing mechanisms for coordination and cooperation, providing technical support, and raising awareness of intellectual property rights with ministries and relevant bodies. He also highlighted efforts to encourage researchers, inventors, startups, and small and micro-enterprises to register their research outputs, inventions, and innovations, and to obtain the necessary protection documents from the office to maximize their benefits.
He clarified that the Egyptian Constitution stipulates the protection of intellectual property rights, which has led to the establishment of a specialized agency for intellectual property in Egypt aimed at creating a more efficient intellectual property system that aligns with Egypt's vision for achieving sustainable development goals through governance of the institutional framework of intellectual property and establishing the Egyptian Intellectual Property Office, as well as preparing the legislative framework to activate the economic returns of intellectual property.
Prof. Amgad Hegazy, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Conference President, confirmed that true development is achieved through the integration of knowledge and innovation. He pointed out that the conference addressed various themes, including issues of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, identity and culture, ethics, and the role of educational institutions in supporting sustainable development, reinforcing the application of technology in service of humanity and society.
