Dr. Nasser Al-Gizawi, President of Benha University, announced the completion of procedures to purchase 120 feddans of land in Moshtohor, converting it from a leasehold system to full ownership. The acquisition was finalized through an official exchange meeting with the Egyptian Awqaf Authority and is dedicated to supporting the Faculties of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, enhancing both their educational and research processes.
This achievement aligns with the university's strategic plan to maximize the utilization of its assets and provide a comprehensive educational and research environment that meets the requirements of agricultural development and animal production. Full ownership of the land represents a significant addition to the capabilities of the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Moshtohor.
Dr. Al-Gizawi emphasized that shifting the land to ownership status contributes to the stability of educational and productive projects, strengthens expansion plans for research and applied farms, and boosts investment in the outcomes of agricultural research. This creates greater opportunities for student training and the conduct of applied scientific research that directly benefits the local community as well as the agriculture and livestock sectors.
The university president highlighted that this step marks a qualitative leap in supporting the educational infrastructure, fully consistent with the state's strategy for sustainable development and achieving food security.
He further noted that the move is part of the university's broader strategy to maximize its self-generated resources and expand its investment asset base. This enables more substantial support for educational and research activities, the implementation of developmental and agricultural projects that serve the local community, and the generation of sustainable returns.
Dr. Al-Gizawi expressed his appreciation for the fruitful cooperation with the Egyptian Awqaf Authority, underscoring that this partnership reflects both institutions'commitment to the optimal investment of available resources and assets. The collaboration is in full harmony with the Egyptian state's directions toward sustainable development and strengthening the role of universities in community service.
