The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine organized a veterinary Convoy in Mit Kenana village, Toukh, as part of the university's role in serving the community and preserving the environment.
Prof. Ihab El-Nahas, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, stated that the Convoy was attended by Dr. Hani Shams, Director of Veterinary Medicine in Kalyobiya, and coordinated by Mrs. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development. Gratitude was expressed to Dr. Shaaban Fayez, Director of the Veterinary Medicine Sector at the Egyptian Bridge Foundation, Prof. Mohamed Mustafa Qandil, Director of the Educational Veterinary Hospital, and the veterinary hospital team, as well as the clinical and scientific departments at the college for their efforts in ensuring the success of the Convoy.
The Convoy conducted medical examinations on various animals and provided free treatment for all cases examined. Additionally, it offered veterinary awareness about certain diseases and distributed general guidelines on animal nutrition.
The Convoy aimed to examine and assess cases that included:
• 81 buffalo and cattle,
• 24 sheep and goats,
• 25 equine cases.
It utilized ultrasound equipment to examine 40 other farm animals
• Treated 1,046 birds (chickens, ducks, and pigeons).
• Surgical procedures were performed on 11 cases,
• cell count analyses were conducted on 24 cases of milk,
• Microscopic analyses for 23 cases.
All treatments were provided free of charge to these cases.
