Necessary examinations and X-rays were conducted immediately, confirming that the pin was lodged in a delicate area at the entrance of the airway, posing a life-threatening risk to her.
The case was handled urgently under the supervision and direction of Dr. Samer Badie, Head of the Ear, Nose, and Throat Department, and Dr. Ehab Saeed, Head of the Anesthesia Department, with follow-up by Dr. Mohamed El-Nams, ENT Lecturer, and Dr. Samar Gamal, Assistant Lecturer in Anesthesia. The patient was immediately prepared for surgery.
The medical team, which included Dr. Abdelrahman El-Bahy, Assistant Lecturer in ENT Surgery; Dr. Fatma Reda, Resident Physician in the department; Dr. Ahmed Afiya, Anesthesiologist; and Dr. Mahmoud Gamal, Anesthesiologist, performed the procedure using a laryngoscope to extract the foreign body under general anesthesia with extreme precision, without any complications.
Hospital administration confirmed that the patient's health condition is completely stable. She is currently under medical follow-up to receive the necessary care until she makes a full recovery and is discharged from the hospital.
