Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, along with the Occupational Safety and Health Unit team, inspected the university facilities and oversaw the removal of rainwater following the recent adverse weather conditions in the governorate.
Prof. El-Gizawy stated that crisis management teams successfully coordinated with the administrative security to remove rainwater from the rooftops of university buildings and ensured the safety of all electrical connections.
Prof. El-Gizawy decided to suspend in-person classes on Wednesday and Thursday for various university faculties and continue with online education due to the adverse weather conditions.
He indicated that this decision was based on forecasts of unstable weather, according to a statement from the General Authority for Meteorology. He noted that exceptions would be made for medical staff, university security personnel, dormitory staff, and those working in health and safety management, as well as those whose work requires their presence to ensure effective management of the situation within the university and its faculties.
Prof. El-Gizawy added that university security would take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the campus during the suspension of classes. He expressed hope for the safety of our country, all members of Benha University, and the great Egyptian people.
