In the presence of the Governor of Kalyobiya, the President of Benha University chaired a meeting of the University Council

• The Governor of Kalyobiya emphasized the close cooperation between the governorate and the university.

The Benha University Council held its meeting chaired by Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, and attended by:
• Prof. Eng. Hossam Abdel-Fattah, Governor of Kalyobiya,
• Prof. Gehan Abdel-Hady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research,
• Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development,
• esteemed members of the University Council.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy opened the council's proceedings by welcoming Prof. Hossam Abdel-Fattah, Governor of Kalyobiya, praising the cooperation between the university and the governorate. He affirmed that Benha University, as a center of expertise with its scientific staff, research experience, and technical capabilities, puts all its resources at the service of Kalyobiya and its executive bodies, based on its national role and social responsibility as a key partner in achieving sustainable development.
During his first participation in the Benha University Council meeting, Prof. Eng. Hossam Abdel-Fattah expressed his pride in the academic identity shared with council members, stating, "I am one of you; we are colleagues in the scientific field. Given my background as a former dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University, I fully understand that the university is the primary center of expertise that the governorate cannot do without in finding scientific solutions to the problems facing the region." He wished the university continued success and leadership in fulfilling its developmental mission.
The governor clarified that the current phase requires working with the spirit of a dedicated soldier in the field of responsibility, emphasizing that any assignment given to us necessitates concerted efforts to overcome challenges and serve the people of the governorate.
The governor expressed his happiness with the close cooperation between Benha University and Kalyobiya Governorate on several issues, particularly the development of vital traffic axes in the governorate's cities, the enhancement of Benha city entrances, as well as coordination with the Ministry of Awqaf to develop Nasser Mosque into a religious and cultural landmark befitting the capital of the governorate. He also mentioned cooperation regarding the energy rationalization system, noting that the governorate had today launched a campaign in the bridges area and the market district of Benha city, removing illegal electricity connections and reviewing all coded meters, affirming that everyone is working towards a single goal:
serving the nation and turning challenges into real opportunities for development and construction.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy praised the Egyptian role representing soft power in solving international crises, affirming Egypt's position in promoting peace and stability regionally and internationally.
Prof. El-Gizawy also reiterated Benha University's strategy to rationalize electricity consumption across all its facilities and units in line with the Egyptian state's efforts to conserve electricity, and in response to global climate changes and events affecting supply chains and fuel prices. He noted that the announced strategy includes 12 measures to rationalize electricity consumption.
The university president stated that they are continuously working on developing their academic programs and introducing new programs that align with the labor market and future job demands. He mentioned the formation of a committee to prepare a comprehensive study linking the university's programs and specializations with the labor market, which comes in response to the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Egyptian universities to review the academic programs they offer to meet the requirements of the local, regional, and international labor markets.
Prof. El-Gizawy reviewed the transition to the second phase of using an administrative communication application among the university's various sectors and colleges, ensuring the quality of institutional performance and governance of administrative work, in addition to assisting decision-makers in the university sectors in understanding the performance indicators of the university's various departments in executing their functional tasks.
The university president directed congratulations to Prof. Magdy Miligi, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, on the confidence of the political leadership and the issuance of the presidential decree appointing him as dean of the Faculty of Commerce, wishing him continued success in his duties.
He also congratulated researcher Bilal Salem, a PhD student at Ohio University and assistant lecturer at Benha University, and the research team from Mansoura University who discovered the ancestors of higher primates dating back 18 million years in the Western Desert of Egypt, praising this significant scientific achievement published in the prestigious journal Science. He affirmed that Benha University is rich with many distinguished young scientists in various scientific and research fields.
The University Council approved the renewal of the contract with the Fund for the Care of Faculty Members and Their Assistants to provide medical services. The council also approved the organization of the Benha University Summit for Startups in light of the university's policy to support innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as the organization of the second edition of the Benha University Robotics Championship.
