President of Benha University Witnessed the Connection of the Photovoltaic Solar Power Station to the University's Administrative Building with the Public Electricity Network

Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, witnessed the connection of the photovoltaic solar power station on the roof of the university's administrative building to the public electricity network. He was accompanied by:
• Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, • Officials from the university's engineering administration.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy indicated that the university has begun taking serious steps towards expanding the use of clean energy, primarily solar energy, which contributes to reducing reliance on traditional energy sources.
He emphasized the university's commitment to rationalizing consumption within the campus by implementing a set of measures aimed at improving energy efficiency. He noted that the current phase requires the cooperation of all state institutions to establish a culture of rational resource use, in line with the directives of the Egyptian state towards energy conservation.
The solar power station at the administrative building consists of photovoltaic solar panels connected to the public electricity network, with a nominal capacity of 76.7 kilowatts, comprising 124 solar panels, each with a nominal capacity of 620 watts. The total annual electricity generated is approximately 166 megawatt-hours per year, with an estimated annual return of around 330,000 Egyptian pounds.
