Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, affirmed the university's commitment to being a pioneering institution in reducing carbon emissions and applying environmental sustainability standards.
This statement was made during his meeting with members of the university's Carbon Neutrality Committee, which includes:
• Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development,
• Prof. Samir Ahmed, a professor at the Faculty of Agriculture,
• Prof. Rami Mohamed Ramadan, Director of the Egyptian Center for Biocontrol,
• Mrs. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development.
Prof. El-Gizawy indicated that the meeting discussed the latest developments in designing Benha University's Carbon Neutrality Platform, urging the prompt implementation of the timeline for the central committee's work to measure environmental impact and carbon neutrality. This initiative aims to ensure a unified zero carbon footprint across all theoretical and practical faculties, geographical branches, advanced university hospitals, residential cities that accommodate thousands of students, and all operational and service activities at the university.
