Prof. Al-Gizawy emphasized the depth of Egyptian-Japanese relations and the strong partnership of Benha University with prestigious Japanese universities.
Prof. Nasser Al-Gizawy, President of Benha University, welcomed Ambassador Fumio Iwai, the Japanese Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, along with his accompanying delegation, as part of efforts to enhance scientific and cultural cooperation between Egypt and Japan.
The meeting was attended by:
• Prof. Gehan Abdel-Hady, Vice President of the University for postgraduate Studies and Research,
• Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development,
• Prof. Amjad Hijazi, Dean of the Faculty of Arts,
• Prof. Ayman Samir, Advisor to the President of Benha University for Innovation and Coordinator of Japanese Relations at the University,
• Prof. Mohamed Mosbah, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Education and Students,
• Prof. Abdel-Fattah Mungid, Executive Director of the International Relations Office,
• Number of students.
Prof. Nasser Al-Gizawy confirmed the depth of Egyptian-Japanese relations, noting Benha University's pride in its extended partnerships with several prestigious Japanese universities, which have contributed to sending many researchers, faculty members, and students from Benha University to Japan, in addition to implementing joint training and research programs in various fields.
The President of the University added that cooperation with the Japanese side represents a successful model for international partnerships based on the exchange of knowledge and experiences, emphasizing the university's commitment to expanding the horizons of this cooperation in the coming period, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030.
The Japanese ambassador expressed his happiness with the visit to Benha University, praising the level of academic and scientific cooperation between the two sides, and stressing the importance of strengthening cultural and educational relations between the two countries.
The visit included a ceremony for the delivery of the READ Japan Project grant provided by The Nippon Foundation, which includes 171 books in various fields, aimed at supporting Japanese studies and enhancing knowledge of Japanese culture within the university, especially in the Japanese Language Department at the Faculty of Arts.
The visit also included an interactive session with several students returning from Japan and faculty members, during which they shared their scientific and training experiences and their impact on developing their academic and professional skills.
At the end of the visit, mutual emphasis was placed on the importance of continuing fruitful cooperation between the two sides, contributing to the support of education, scientific research, and innovation.
