Prof. El-Gizawy:
The conference is a unique platform that opens new horizons for exchanging expertise in the field of physical therapy.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, inaugurated the activities of the second scientific conference organized by the Faculty of Physical Therapy over two days under the title: "Physical Therapy: From Recovery to Sustainability." The event took place in Prof. Hossam Al-Attar Hall at the university's Al-Obour campus.
The inauguration was attended by:
• Prof. Gehan Abdel Hady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research,
• Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development,
• Prof. Alaa Belba, Head of the Physical Therapy Sector Committee at the Supreme Council of Universities,
• Prof. Hafez Shoukry, representative of the President of the General Syndicate for Physical Therapy in Egypt,
• Prof. Walid Talaat, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Therapy,
• Prof. Amani Abbas, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
• Prof. Ayman Samir, Dean of the Veterinary Medicine College at Benha National University,
• Prof. Hazem Aliwa, Dean of Benha-Wuhan postgraduate Studies College in Al-Obour campus,
• Several deans of physical therapy faculties from Egyptian universities.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy emphasized that the conference's title this year reflects a profound vision of the role of physical therapy in serving the community—not only as a means of recovery from injuries and illnesses but as a fundamental pillar for achieving health sustainability, prevention, and enhancing the quality of life.
Prof. El-Gizawy noted that Benha University aims to be a scientific beacon contributing to the development of the physical therapy field through supporting scientific research, encouraging innovation, and graduating qualified cadres capable of competing locally, regionally, and internationally.
The university president added that the conference is not merely a scientific gathering or academic occasion but serves as a unique platform that opens new horizons for researchers and practitioners to exchange experiences and discuss the latest scientific advancements and practical applications.
Prof. Gehan Abdel Hady highlighted the importance of physical therapy in rehabilitating patients, improving their functional efficiency, and reducing disease complications, particularly in the fields of musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiopulmonary systems, by applying the latest evidence-based therapeutic methods.
The Vice President further added that Benha University is keen on promoting applied scientific research and enhancing collaboration between colleges and healthcare institutions, believing in the university's role in serving the community and contributing to achieving sustainable development.
