• Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs,
Inaugurated a seminar titled "Youth and Environmental Sustainability: Challenges and Opportunities in the Era of Digital Transformation." The event was organized by the university's Community Service and Environmental Development Sector and held at the Tahya Misr Hall.
The seminar was attended by :
• Prof. Tamer Arafa, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences,
• Prof. Hani Zakaria, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs,
• Prof. Mohamed Abdel Karim Nabhan, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences for Education and Student Affairs,
• Prof. Mohamed Saad, Director of Project Evaluation and Monitoring,
• Prof. Ahmed Shaaban, Director of the Sustainable Green Recovery Project,
• Mrs. Nadia Hafez, Coordinator of the Digital Pathway for Sustainable Green Recovery Project,
• Mr. Nabil Anwar, Protocol Coordinator.
The event was coordinated with Mrs. Rania Maatz Eissa, Assistant Secretary-General for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Mrs. Enas Shehata from the governorate.
Prof. Taha Ashour emphasized that the seminar is part of the implementation of the protocol signed between the university, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and Kalyobiya Governorate under the Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development project, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The initiative aims to support sustainable digital community development.
The Vice President added that the seminar addressed various topics and issues related to environmental challenges, the role of digital transformation tools in supporting environmental sustainability, and the importance of green skills in enhancing the expertise and capabilities of young people to prepare them for future job opportunities. He stressed the significance of empowering youth with modern knowledge and skills while raising their awareness of their role in supporting environmental sustainability and green development pathways, contributing to building a more sustainable future.
