Prof. Amgad Higazy, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Benha University, inaugurated an awareness seminar on "Volunteer Work and Community Service," organized by the university in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The event was held under the auspices of :
• Mr. Johar Nabil, Minister of Youth and Sports,
• Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University.
Participants in the seminar included Prof. Mohamed Mesbah, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Eman Magdy, Lecturer in the Sociology Department at the Faculty.
The seminar discussed the importance of coordination between academic institutions and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to establish a culture of volunteer work as a fundamental pillar for community service. It aimed to deepen awareness of the necessity of active community participation through youth initiatives and emphasized institutional partnerships in serving society.
The seminar also highlighted the role of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in collaboration with the university in supporting student leadership centers and directing their energies toward public service and volunteerism as a noble mission. This mission involves dedicating effort and time to serve others and improve the surrounding environment.
The seminar addressed the role of youth in advancing society, the importance of positive citizenship, and active participation in national and local service activities. It explored how volunteering fosters social solidarity, strengthens bonds between youth and state institutions, and enhances empowerment and acquired skills. It also showcased the personal and leadership benefits students gain through involvement in the "Student Leadership Center" and fieldwork.
The seminar featured presentations of successful volunteer initiatives implemented by the university in collaboration with the ministry.
