In light of Benha University's commitment to enhancing its community role and spreading scientific and environmental awareness among the youth, the university's Community Service and Environmental Development Sector organized an educational awareness Convoy at Omar Ibn Al-Khattab Primary School in Al-Amar, under the title “Today's Awareness... Tomorrow's Energy.”
The Convoy was held under the auspices of :
• Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of the University,
• Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development,
• Prof. Mohamed Heikal, Dean of the Faculty of Science, in coordination
• Mrs. Rania Moataz Issa, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and in collaboration with the Qalyubia Directorate of Education and the Educational Administration in Toukh.
Prof. Radwan Khalil, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science for Community Service and Environmental Development, stated that the Convoy aimed to raise students' awareness of the importance of energy and its various sources, highlighting its vital role in daily life, while emphasizing the necessity of rationalizing its consumption and moving towards sustainable use to preserve natural resources.
He explained that the activities also included raising awareness of the importance of water as the essence of life, where the risks and causes of pollution were discussed, along with proposing several positive behaviors to conserve water from wastage and pollution, using simplified methods and interactive activities suitable for the students' age group.
