As part of its community role and commitment to providing comprehensive developmental services to villages, Benha University organized a free veterinary Convoy in Shiblenga Village, in the center of Benha, under the auspices of :
• Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of the University,
• Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development,
• Prof. Amani Abbas, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Prof. Ehab El-Nahas, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, explained that the Convoy was executed in collaboration with the Veterinary Medicine Directorate in Qalyubia Governorate, in coordination with Mrs. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development. He emphasized that these Convoys are part of the university's strategy to support farmers, improve veterinary care, and preserve livestock.
He noted that the Convoy witnessed great turnout from the residents, where medical examinations were conducted on various types of animals, and treatment was provided free of charge. Additionally, awareness programs were implemented, including information on the most important veterinary diseases and ways to prevent them, as well as specialized guidance on proper nutrition methods.
He added that the Convoy benefited 65 citizens, with examinations conducted on :
• 61 cases of cattle and buffalo,
• 49 cases of sheep and goats,
• two cases of horses.
Moreover, ultrasound examinations were performed on 55 farm animals, and 1,043 cases of birds (chickens, ducks, and pigeons) were examined. The Convoy also included surgical interventions and several specialized medical tests, with free medication provided for all cases.
This Convoy is part of a series of veterinary Convoys organized by the university, supporting sustainable development efforts and enhancing its role in serving the local community and improving the agricultural and livestock sectors.
