Benha University Holds Awareness Seminar in Cooperation with Qalyubia Electricity Sector on Energy Conservation Mechanisms for Students

As part of its commitment to fostering community awareness, promoting sustainability, and preserving resources, Benha University organized an awareness seminar in collaboration with the Qalyubia Electricity Sector under the title “Mechanisms for Rationalizing Electricity Consumption.” The seminar targeted university students, aiming to raise awareness of the importance of optimal energy use and to instill positive practices in dealing with electricity.
The event was held under the auspices of prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University; prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and prof. Hani Shehata, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education. It was coordinated with Engineer Hanaa El-Tantawy, Head of the Electricity Sector, and Ms. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary-General for Community Service.
Prof. Yasser Abdel Rahman, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education for Community Service and Environmental Development, explained that the seminar addressed several key themes, including methods of reducing electricity consumption in homes and educational institutions, the importance of using energy-efficient appliances, and the necessity of switching off unused lights and devices. The seminar also shed light on the challenges facing the energy sector and emphasized the role of citizens in supporting the state's efforts toward rational energy use.
The session witnessed strong student engagement, with open discussions and responses to questions on practical ways to minimize consumption and maximize the use of available resources.
