Benha University Organizes Seminar Entitled “Return of the Land… A Homeland's Story” in Celebration of the 44th Anniversary of Sinai Liberation

As part of commemorating this enduring national occasion, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Benha University, in cooperation with the university's Solidarity Unit and the Faculty of Applied Arts, organized an awareness seminar entitled “Return of the Land… A Homeland's Story.” The seminar aimed to revive the memory of Sinai's liberation and instill values of loyalty and belonging among youth.
The seminar was held under the auspices of prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of the University; prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and prof. Osama Nada, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts. It was supervised by Dr. Mohamed El-Okby, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity and General Supervisor of Solidarity Units at Egyptian universities, and coordinated by Ms. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary-General for Community Service and Environmental Development.
Prof. Nevine Farouk, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts for Community Service and Environmental Development, noted the strong student participation. The seminar featured a lecture by prof. Mohamed Abdel-Badei, Professor and former Head of the Media Department at the Faculty of Arts, who showcased the historical stages of Sinai's liberation—from the heroic battles of the Egyptian Armed Forces during the war years, through the political and diplomatic efforts that culminated in the full restoration of national territory.
Prof. Abdel-Badei emphasized that the anniversary of Sinai Liberation stands as an eternal symbol of resilience and victory, embodying the Egyptian people's determination to defend their land and reclaim their rights. He stressed that Sinai is not merely a piece of land, but a homeland's story written through sacrifice and heroism.
The seminar also highlighted the developmental efforts and major national projects launched in Sinai after liberation, which transformed it into a living model of Egypt's ability to turn challenges into opportunities and achievements.
In conclusion, the seminar underscored the importance of instilling patriotism in younger generations, enhancing their awareness of their nation's history, and encouraging them to emulate the determination of Egypt's heroes by working for the advancement of the homeland and safeguarding its resources.
