Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, conducted an extensive inspection tour of the Faculty of Agriculture in Moshtohor, assessiing development works across facilities and various production units.
The tour was attended by prof. El-Sayed Khater, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture; prof. Mahmoud El-Zablawy, former Dean of the Faculty; faculty vice deans; and several staff members.
Prof. El-Gizawy began by inspecting the project to upgrade and develop the Plant Protection Building, which includes training laboratories, research labs, discussion halls, and offices for faculty members. He assessed the progress of implementation and stressed the need to set a timetable to ensure the building is received no later than July and enters service at the start of the new academic year, supporting both teaching and research activities at the faculty.
The tour also included visits to the rabbit farm, agricultural and ornamental greenhouses, and the faculty's apiary, where development works are underway. Prof. El-Gizawy directed that graduation projects and academic departments should be leveraged to establish start-ups and economic entities that contribute to community service.
He affirmed Benha University's commitment to developing productive farms and adopting the model of a “productive university,” in line with its service and community role. This includes contributing to food security by providing high-quality food products at affordable prices, while linking scientific research to real societal needs and addressing challenges in industry and agriculture.
