As part of the implementation of Benha University's Community Service and Environmental Development plan, and in cooperation with the university's Solidarity Unit, an awareness seminar was held at the Faculty of Sport Sciences under the title “Comprehensive Balance… The Key to Success and Stability.”
The seminar was held under the auspices of prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University; prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and prof. Tamer Arafa, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Sport Sciences. It was supervised by Dr. Mohamed El-Okby, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity and General Supervisor of Solidarity Units at Egyptian universities, and coordinated by Ms. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary-General for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The seminar was delivered by prof. Hend Yehia Kamel Abdelrahman, Lecturer of Mental Health and Special Education at the Faculty of Education, Benha University. She discussed the concept of comprehensive balance, its foundations, and key dimensions, while presenting strategies for achieving psychological and social balance.
She emphasized that psychological balance is one of the most important aspects of comprehensive balance, pointing out several common mistakes that negatively affect mental stability, including excessive pursuit of perfection, constant comparison with others, lack of self-appreciation, and neglect of physical, mental, and emotional needs—all of which lead to imbalance and instability.
Prof. Hany Zakaria, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Sport Sciences for Community Service and Environmental Development, noted that the seminar included an interactive discussion on the causes of imbalance resulting from academic pressures, practical, oral, and written examinations, as well as strategies for achieving comprehensive balance to ensure success and stability.
