Dr. Eng. Hossam Abdel Fattah, Governor of Qalyubia; Major General Mustafa Mohamed Awda, Chief of Staff of the Popular and Military Defense Forces; and prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, attended the 94th awareness symposium organized by the Popular and Military Defense Forces in cooperation with Benha University under the title “A Generation Liberates: A Generation Builds.” The event reflects the Armed Forces' commitment to instilling loyalty and belonging among students of Egyptian universities and institutes.f
The symposium was attended by prof. Jehan Abdel Hady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; along with security and executive leaders of the governorate, deans and vice deans of faculties, the Director of Military Education, and academic and administrative leaders of the university.
In his speech, prof. Nasser El-Gizawy highlighted the national role of Egyptian leadership and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in preserving national identity, safeguarding the people's resources, and strengthening loyalty and belonging among younger generations. He stressed that this reflects a wise strategic vision aimed at consolidating unity and supporting Egypt's comprehensive development. He noted that such symposiums, organized in cooperation with the Popular and Military Defense Forces, serve as vital platforms for instilling national values, raising awareness, and shaping balanced personalities capable of facing challenges and protecting the state's resources.
El-Gizawy emphasized that Benha University views these symposiums as integral to its educational mission, combining knowledge with national loyalty. He pointed out that universities are not only tasked with producing specialized graduates but also with instilling values that enable students to become responsible citizens contributing to Egypt's progress. He added that the timing of the 94th symposium coincides with the anniversary of Sinai Liberation, a national occasion that embodies the values of willpower, belonging, and collective effort—lessons that must be passed on to students as the generation that will continue building and safeguarding Egypt's achievements.
Governor Hossam Abdel Fattah expressed pride in the fruitful cooperation between the Popular and Military Defense Forces and Benha University. He explained that the slogan “A Generation Liberates: A Generation Builds” is not just a title but a philosophy that reflects Egypt's journey of defending the homeland while simultaneously advancing development. He urged students to recognize their pivotal role in countering misinformation and protecting national awareness, stressing that loyalty is expressed through dedication to learning and innovation.
Major General Mustafa Mohamed Awda conveyed greetings from General Ashraf Salem Zahir, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, and General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces. He praised the organization and student participation, affirming that the symposium reflects the Armed Forces' commitment to preparing youth capable of contributing to sustainable development and strengthening loyalty and belonging. He added that the symposium aims to protect society—especially youth—from misconceptions and destructive ideologies through awareness and correct understanding of threats to Egypt's national security.
The symposium featured a lecture by Dr. Alaa Fawzi of the Military Academy titled “Humanizing Artificial Intelligence: When Machines Appear Smarter and Kinder than Humans.” It also included a dialogue session titled “Your Role in Protecting Your Homeland… Responsibility and Awareness,” moderated by Dr. Khaled Eissawy, General Coordinator of Student Activities.
The program showcased patriotic songs performed by the university's “Qatrat Al-Nada” choir, a theatrical performance by the drama team, folk art displays, and religious chanting.
At the conclusion, winners of the 94th awareness competition were honored, along with families of martyrs and students of determination. Commemorative shields were exchanged between the university and the Popular and Military Defense Forces.
