Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, welcomed the delegation of the Pharmaceutical Studies Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities, headed by prof. Mervat Ashkar, former Vice President of Zagazig University, to assess the institutional readiness for the opening of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Benha University.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Gehan Abdel Hady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research. The committee included Dr. Manal Eid, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mansoura University; Dr. Shaimaa El-Shazly, Dean of Pharmacy, Zagazig University; Dr. Mona Abdel Hamid El-Asr, Dean of Pharmacy, Tanta University; and Dr. Mohamed Abdel Khaleq, Dean of Pharmacy, Sadat University.
Prof. El-Gizawy welcomed the committee at the university's Obour campus, affirming Benha University's commitment to completing preparations for the launch of the Faculty of Pharmacy. He emphasized the faculty's role in strengthening the healthcare sector in Qalyubia and meeting labor market needs, noting that construction and academic preparations are being finalized to the highest quality standards. He highlighted the faculty's mission to advance pharmaceutical education and research.
He also stressed the university's dedication to preparing qualified medical professionals capable of serving the community and contributing to sustainable development goals, through innovative programs designed to graduate competitive students for the job market.
The committee toured the designated Faculty of Pharmacy premises at the Obour campus, which includes lecture halls, laboratories, faculty offices, libraries, and administrative facilities.
