President of Benha University: Committed to Improving the Quality of Healthcare in University Hospitals

Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, attended the university's celebration of World Hand Hygiene Day, organized by the Infection Control Unit at Benha University Hospitals, held at the Tahya Misr Hall.

• Prof. Amr El-Dakhakhni, Executive Director of Benha University Hospitals,
• Prof. Mohamed Shaker, Director of the University Hospital,
• Prof. Abeer El-Sayed, Director of the Infection Control Unit,
• several faculty members.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy noted that the university's organization of a celebration for World Hand Hygiene Day, observed on May 5 each year, is a reminder from the World Health Organization about the importance of this simple habit that saves lives and prevents the spread of infections. He added that hand hygiene is not just a routine procedure but the first line of defense against infectious diseases and a shared responsibility among everyone working in the healthcare field. "By washing our hands, we can protect our patients, protect ourselves, and contribute to improving the quality of healthcare provided in our hospitals," he stated.
Prof. El-Gizawy explained that the slogan for this day is a clear call to all of us: "Hand hygiene saves lives." Hence, the importance of our commitment to implementing infection control policies and promoting a culture of hand washing among staff, patients, and visitors alike. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Infection Control Unit team at Benha University Hospitals for their sincere efforts and to the medical and nursing staff who work tirelessly to protect patients and provide the best healthcare. "What you do is the cornerstone of building a safe and effective healthcare system, and we owe you our utmost gratitude and appreciation," he said.
Prof. Mohamed El-Ashhab praised the medical teams at the university hospital, including doctors, nurses, technicians, and staff, expressing pride in their outstanding contributions and dedication to their noble mission of alleviating the suffering of patients.
Prof. Amr El-Dakhakhni thanked all departments within the university hospital, emphasizing that success is the result of collective work and the integration of roles, especially when dealing with large numbers of patients in university hospitals. During the event, the President of the University and his companions honored several medical teams for their distinguished efforts in providing medical services.
