Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced that university students achieved advanced rankings in the second edition of the Industry Innovators Hackathon v2, held under the slogan “Artificial Intelligence Drives the Future of Industry.” The event was organized through a cooperation protocol between ITIDA (Information Technology Industry Development Agency) – Benha branch, and the University Career Development Center, in partnership with Creativa Benha and IceAlexandria.
Prof. El-Gizawy emphasized that the participation of Benha University students reflects the institution's commitment to linking educational outcomes with labor market needs, encouraging students to develop innovative, applicable projects that serve the community, foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, and build future-ready skills.
Prof. Jehan Abdel Hadi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, noted that the hackathon began with 56 teams from various universities, of which 24 qualified for the final stage.
Medicode won first place with a prize of 150,000 EGP for a project developing an intelligent system using AI and micro-robotics to improve success rates in assisted reproduction and reduce reliance on manual evaluation.
CREATOCARE's MAZZBOT secured second place with a smart medical project aimed at enhancing patient and doctor experiences, streamlining medical services through AI, and supporting digital transformation in healthcare.
CyberGuard achieved third place with a prize of 100,000 EGP for a smart cybersecurity platform capable of automatically detecting and fixing vulnerabilities (Auto-Fix).
GridX came fourth, winning 75,000 EGP for a project designing an intelligent system to automate industrial product stacking and predict faults before they occur, thereby improving efficiency and reducing downtime.
The Industry Innovators Hackathon aims to support innovative ideas and AI-driven technological solutions for industrial development, enabling youth to transform concepts into practical applications for the labor market. It also encourages participants to present prototypes that address industrial challenges, enhance production efficiency, and improve quality across factories and companies.
This year's hackathon tracks included:
AI in business processes
Smart manufacturing and industrial automation
IoT and smart factories
Supply chain and logistics optimization
Digital transformation in industry
Open innovation for AI solutions
The total prize pool reached 600,000 EGP, with Benha University teams securing 325,000 EGP — a clear testament to the university's role in fostering technological innovation and entrepreneurship among youth.
