Benha University Celebrates International Nurses Day

Under the auspices of prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, the university hospitals marked International Nurses Day with a special celebration attended by prof. Gehan Abdel Hadi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The event brought together Dr. Mohamed El-Ashhab, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, Dr. Samia Labib, Head of the Nursing Syndicate in Qalyubia, Ms. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary-General for Community Service Affairs, along with nursing teams from the university hospitals.
In her remarks, prof. Gehan Abdel Hadi expressed gratitude to the nursing staff for their dedication, stressing that their role extends beyond medical care to include vital psychological and emotional support for patients and their families — a reflection of the noble essence of the profession.
Prof. Taha Ashour highlighted that the celebration underscores the pivotal role nurses play in the university's healthcare system, as they are the backbone of patient care. Dr. Mohamed El-Ashhab added that nursing is a noble and humanitarian profession, describing nurses as the “beating heart” of hospital service.
Dr. Amr El-Dakhakhny, Executive Director of Benha University Hospitals, praised the immense contribution of nurses, noting that they represent one of the fundamental pillars of the healthcare system, carrying a profound humanitarian mission rooted in dedication and compassion.
The ceremony concluded with the university's vice presidents honoring a number of nursing staff in recognition of their outstanding efforts and service.
