El-Gizawy congratulates President El-Sisi on Eid al-Adha

The Benha University Council convened under the leadership of prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of the University, with the participation of prof. Gehan Abdel Hadi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, along with the council members.
Prof. El-Gizawy opened the session by extending heartfelt congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the occasion of the upcoming Eid al-Adha, wishing that these blessed days bring prosperity, peace, and blessings to Egypt and the Islamic world. He also conveyed his greetings to the council members, faculty, staff, and students of the university.
The session assessed the progress of the second-semester examinations, which began this week across the university's faculties. Dr. El-Gizawy emphasized the importance of continuous monitoring to ensure exams are conducted safely, fairly, and in an orderly manner, while providing a secure and supportive environment for students.
He directed that medical clinics across faculties remain on high alert to handle emergencies, particularly in light of rising temperatures, and stressed the availability of medicines, medical supplies, and first aid to guarantee proper healthcare for students during the exam period.
Dr. El-Gizawy also highlighted the university's pivotal role in advancing Egypt's National Human Rights Strategy, promoting it among students and the wider community through seminars, training programs, awareness activities, and annual awards designed to instill values of citizenship and democracy. He underscored the integration of presidential initiatives such as Decent Life and A New Beginning for Building the Human Being into university programs, showing how they enhance quality of life and fundamental rights. The university has also established psychological and social support offices in its faculties, alongside a dedicated Human Rights Unit.
The council further discussed the university's initiatives under the strategy's focus on protecting vulnerable groups. These include issuing personal accident insurance policies for more than 100,000 students, covering partial or total disability from accidents anywhere; eradicating illiteracy for 39,362 citizens through 27 training courses in cooperation with the Adult Education Authority; and supporting 18,685 students over five years through the Student Solidarity Fund, which covered tuition fees, medical and assistive devices, with total aid amounting to nearly 13 million Egyptian pounds. Additionally, the university hospital has served more than 5 million citizens across its departments and units.
