"Prof. Ashour" issues a comprehensive and sustainable guide for the initiative.
Under the auspices of Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, chaired a meeting to discuss mechanisms for work and participation in the fourth cycle of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects at the university's faculties.
The meeting was attended by several college deputy deans for community service, coordinated by Mrs. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, along with several faculty members.
Prof. Taha Ashour emphasized that the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects is one of the important initiatives to enhance the state's efforts to achieve sustainable development and Egypt's Vision 2030, as well as the National Climate Change Strategy 2050.
The vice president added that the university's Community Service Sector has issued a comprehensive and sustainable guide for the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, noting that the competition is open to all members of Benha University, including faculty members, researchers, and students. He pointed out that it aims to select the best projects that combine environmental and technological dimensions, possessing viable prototypes, contributing to transforming innovative ideas into projects with real developmental and economic impact, capable of attracting funding and investment for broader expansion.
Prof. Taha Ashour indicated that Benha University is keen to actively contribute and participate in raising awareness of environmental issues, climate change, and its risks, urging university members to participate in the "National Initiative for Smart Green Projects" in its fourth cycle in 2026.
The initiative targets six main categories, including large-scale projects, medium projects, local small projects, especially those related to the presidential initiative "Decent Life," as well as projects from startups, development projects related to women and climate change, and non-profit community initiatives.
The specialized committee will evaluate the submitted projects according to six basic criteria, including the green component, technological component, economic feasibility, developmental impact of the project, scalability and replicability, in addition to the criterion of empowering women and enhancing their role in leadership and community participation.
