Prof. El-Gizawy: Launching various convoys and initiatives to support community awareness and serve the most needy villages and areas.
Professor Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, presented a report on the achievements of the community and comprehensive development convoys organized by the university's Community Service and Environmental Development Sector during the academic year 2025/2026. This initiative is part of the university's community role in serving the residents of Kalyobiya Governorate and contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals and Egypt's Vision 2030.
The report indicated that Benha University successfully implemented 61 community and comprehensive development convoys, benefiting 34,055 citizens across various villages and centers in the governorate. The services of these convoys reached 18 villages, in addition to covering several schools, community institutions, and care centers.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy emphasized that community convoys represent one of the university's most important mechanisms for direct engagement with the local community. He noted that the university is committed to utilizing its scientific and human resources to serve citizens and provide integrated services that contribute to improving quality of life and raising community awareness.
The university president added that the convoys executed during the academic year varied, including:
• 33 medical convoys that served over 8,047 beneficiaries,
• 12 veterinary convoys benefiting approximately 22,449 individuals,
• Two agricultural convoys,
• Three awareness convoys,
• Two health education convoys,

• Five events as part of the "Prevent It Before It Starts" initiative to combat drug abuse,
• Four events for the Young Entrepreneurs Initiative.
Prof. El-Gizawy pointed out that the convoys did not only provide medical services but also included programs for health and environmental awareness, agricultural guidance, veterinary education, and support for innovation and entrepreneurship, reflecting the comprehensive developmental role the university plays in serving the community.
Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, stated that the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector continues to implement the university's strategy aimed at delivering quality services to the most needy villages and areas. He confirmed that the success of the convoys resulted from the cooperation and integration among various faculties of the university and the executive authorities in Kalyobiya Governorate.
He explained that the convoys were conducted in various locations, including:
• 33 schools,
• 18 villages,
• elderly care homes and churches,
ensuring that services reach different segments of the community.
The Vice President affirmed that the community and comprehensive development convoys reflect Benha University's commitment to its social responsibility and its role as a key partner in development efforts within the governorate. He noted that there would be continued expansion of these convoys in the upcoming period to maximize their benefits and achieve the greatest positive impact for citizens.
