Launch of the Second Batch of Benha University Ambassadors for Sustainable Development and Climate Initiative

Professor Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced the launch of the second batch of the Benha University Ambassadors for Sustainable Development and Climate initiative for faculty members and support staff at the university. The initiative aims to promote a culture of sustainable development and adaptation to climate change to achieve leadership in sustainable development.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy noted that the initiative targets building the capacities of faculty members and support staff in the field of sustainable development, enabling them to become ambassadors for Benha University in this area, spreading the culture of sustainable development within the university and the surrounding community.
Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, added that the initiative consists of a package of training courses and interactive practical field practices:
• Covering development patterns,
• Sustainable development goals,
• Egypt's Vision 2030,
• Green and circular economies and field initiatives as mechanisms to achieve sustainable development.
It will also address governance, enabling policies for development, opportunities and challenges facing institutions in achieving comprehensive and equitable sustainable development goals, the role of institutions in reaching these goals, and familiarization with the national climate change strategy for 2050.
Prof. Mohamed Basyouni, Director of the Sustainable Development and Climate Change Unit at the university, confirmed that the initiative includes a series of batches for faculty members and support staff across the university's faculties. The second batch will be launched in June, with the following conditions for applicants: they must have a motivation for voluntary work in the field of sustainable development and climate, possess skills such as research ability, critical thinking, communication with others, leadership skills, team formation, and public speaking.
