The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Benha University welcomed researcher Kossyva Vasiliki, a PhD candidate in the Department of Food Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Food Technology at the Faculty of Nutrition and Dietetics, University of Thessaly, Greece. Her visit took place within the framework of the academic cooperation agreement between the two universities under the Erasmus+ student exchange program.
The event was held under the auspices of prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University; prof. Gehan Abdelhadi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; and Dr. Amani Abbas, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, with the presence of Dr. Abdel-Fattah Selim, Director of the International Relations Office at Benha University.
Prof. El-Gizawy affirmed that hosting the Greek researcher reflects Benha University's strategy to strengthen international collaboration and activate partnership agreements with European universities. He noted that such initiatives enhance academic and research mobility, broaden opportunities for postgraduate students and researchers, and align with the university's vision of internationalizing higher education and engaging with global academic institutions.
Prof Gehan Abdelhadi highlighted that academic exchange programs, particularly Erasmus+, are among the most effective tools for fostering international scientific cooperation. They provide valuable opportunities to share expertise, exchange knowledge, and build research partnerships that elevate the university's educational and research systems.
During her visit, Kossyva Vasiliki delivered a scientific lecture showcasing the latest research trends in food chemistry and food technology. She also presented an overview of ongoing research activities at the University of Thessaly and engaged with faculty members, researchers, and postgraduate students in discussions on potential avenues for joint research, knowledge exchange, and future collaborative projects between the two universities.
At the conclusion of her visit, the researcher expressed her delight at visiting Benha University, praising the distinguished academic standards of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the warm hospitality and organization. She emphasized her eagerness to continue fostering scientific and research cooperation between the University of Thessaly and Benha University in the coming period.
