Prof. Nasser El‑Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced a notable improvement in the rankings of the scientific journals issued by the university, according to the July 2026 evaluation conducted by Egypt’s Supreme Council of Universities. Twenty journals published by the university and its faculties were assessed, with a new journal included in the evaluation for the first time.
Prof. El‑Gizawy explained that this progress reflects the university’s ongoing pursuit of academic and research excellence. He highlighted the inclusion of the Benha Journal of Engineering and Technology Sciences in the council’s classification for the first time, achieving a score of 6.5, alongside the continued advancement of the Journal of Basic and Environmental Sciences, which also scored 6.5. He further noted the improvement of the Benha Journal of Humanities and the Journal of Accounting Studies and Research, both of which attained the maximum score of 7. In total, 13 journals from Benha University achieved the highest rating, including those from the Faculties of Nursing, Arts, Education, Veterinary Medicine, Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Legal and Economic Thought, and others, as well as the Benha International Journal of Physical Therapy.
Prof. Gehan Abdel‑Hady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, added that the Benha Medical Journal maintained its presence in the global Scopus database. She noted that three other journals achieved high scores close to the maximum, including:
Annals of Agricultural Sciences, Moshtohor (6.5)
Benha Journal of Applied Sciences (6)
