Benha University Organized a Workshop on International Scientific Publishing Standards and Mechanisms

Under the auspices of:
• Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University,
• Prof. Gehan Abdel-Hady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research,
Inaugurated a workshop on the standards and mechanisms of international scientific publishing in Benha University journals. The workshop was organized by the Scientific Research Fund and attended by:
• Prof. Adel Nabil, Director of the Digital Library at Benha University,
• Faculty members.
The workshop was presented by Mr. Mohamed Salah, Manager of the Scientific Journals Platform at the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB).
Prof. Gehan Abdel-Hady emphasized that Benha University places great importance on international publishing as a key indicator for measuring the quality of academic institutions. This is achieved through providing support programs, semi-annual rewards for international scientific publishing, and organizing periodic workshops to enhance researchers' skills and capabilities, such as international writing skills, the use of artificial intelligence in research, and academic integrity standards, in cooperation with international publishers and the Egyptian Knowledge Bank.
Prof. Adel Nabil pointed out that the workshop covered how to publish in the Scopus and Arab Citation Index (ARCI) databases. These are global and regional systems for indexing and tracking academic citations. Scopus is considered the world's largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed journals, while the Arab Citation Index is integrated with the Web of Science to track regional academic impact.
Scopus database was launched in 2004 by Elsevier, one of the world's largest academic publishing houses. Scopus includes over 25,000 peer-reviewed scientific journals, more than 150,000 academic books, as well as conference proceedings and technical research. Its coverage spans all disciplines, including medicine, engineering, natural sciences, social sciences, economics, computing, management, and others.
