Benha University Promotes Institutional Excellence by Announcing Results of the 2026 Competitions for Best Academic Advising Unit and Best Psychological Support Unit

As part of Benha University's strategy to enhance the quality of student services and to embed a culture of institutional excellence and continuous improvement, the university has announced the results of the “Best Academic Advising Unit” and “Best Psychological Support Unit” competitions across its faculties for 2026. The initiative was held under the auspices of Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of the University, and Prof. Gehan Abdelhadi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Acting Supervisor of the Education and Student Affairs Sector.
These competitions reflect the university's commitment to advancing academic and psychological support systems as key pillars for improving student well-being, fostering academic and personal success, and building a supportive learning environment aligned with the objectives of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research.
The Central Academic Advising Unit organized the “Best Academic Advising Unit” competition from June 23 to July 16, 2026, while the “Best Psychological Support Unit” competition was conducted using a scientific evaluation framework developed in coordination with the University's Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center. The evaluation relied on objective criteria, including institutional performance efficiency, effectiveness of programs and activities, quality of services provided, impact on student support, as well as human resources, infrastructure, and mechanisms for development and sustainability. Assessment was carried out through desk reviews and field visits by judging committees.
Results of the Best Academic Advising Unit Competition:

Second Place: Faculty of Education
Third Place: Faculty of Agriculture
Fourth Place: Faculty of Nursing
Fifth Place: Faculty of Specific Education
Results of the Best Psychological Support Unit Competition:
First Place: Faculty of Arts
Second Place: Faculty of Nursing
Third Place: Faculty of Agriculture
These results highlight the progress achieved by academic advising and psychological support units across faculties, and the efforts of their teams in improving student services. They contribute to enhancing institutional performance and enriching the student experience, affirming the university's success in building an integrated system of academic and psychological care.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy emphasized that these competitions serve as effective mechanisms for promoting a culture of quality, excellence, and positive competition among faculties. He noted that the university regards academic advising and psychological support units as essential partners in ensuring academic success, reducing dropout rates, strengthening mental health, and fostering institutional belonging among students.
He added that the university is working to transform the outstanding practices identified through the competitions into institutional models that can be generalized, thereby ensuring unified quality standards, knowledge exchange among faculties, and continuous improvement in student services.
The winning faculties will be honored during a dialogue forum organized by the university, with the participation of academic advising and psychological support unit leaders. The forum will showcase successful experiences, share lessons learned, and develop future visions to further strengthen the system and maximize its impact on student support and the quality of education.
