Benha University Launched Specialized Training Course to Qualify Personnel in Carbon Footprint Assessment and Management

Under the auspices of Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector is organizing, in collaboration with the Central Committee for Environmental Impact Measurement and Carbon Neutrality, an intensive training course titled "Assessment and Management of the Carbon Footprint: A Scientific Step Towards a Sustainable Future." This initiative is part of the university's commitment to promoting sustainability culture, enhancing environmental awareness, and building capacities in green transformation fields.
Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, confirmed that organizing this course aligns with the university's strategy aimed at supporting the state's efforts in achieving sustainable development and carbon neutrality, as well as qualifying human resources in organizations and companies to deal with the latest international standards for measuring and managing carbon footprints, thereby improving the environmental performance of institutions and enhancing their ability to achieve sustainability.
The Vice President added that the course will cover several important topics, including an introduction to carbon neutrality concepts, methodologies for calculating carbon footprints, emission source analysis, measurement and evaluation tools and programs, emission reduction strategies, carbon neutrality and sustainability plans, along with case studies and practical applications, and an introduction to the international standard ISO 17029, areas of accreditation, and reporting protocols according to international standards.
He noted that the course targets engineers, researchers, postgraduate students, specialists in organizations and companies in sustainability and environmental fields, entrepreneurs, and interested individuals.
The course will last for two intensive days, with five hours each day, and will be taught by Prof. Rami Mohamed Ramadan, Director of the Egyptian Center for Biotic Agriculture and a member of the Permanent Central Committee for Environmental Impact Measurement and Carbon Neutrality. Participants will receive a certified certificate from Benha University upon completion.
