Prof. Nasser El‑Gizawy, President of Benha University, together with Dr. Gamal El‑Saied, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Benha National University, and Dr. Mohamed Said, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Shoubra, attended the closing ceremony of the Robotics Summer School. The event included the awarding of certificates to participating students and honoring the winning teams in the Dr. Ibrahim Shaaban Memorial Competition, hosted by the Faculty of Engineering at Shoubra.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University; Dr. Ayman El‑Shohaby, former Dean of the Faculty and former Governor of Damietta; Dr. Osama Kamal, former Vice President of Benha University; along with faculty members, students of the summer school, competition participants, and members of the judging panel.
In his remarks, prof. El‑Gizawy praised the Faculty of Engineering at Shoubra as one of the distinguished scientific institutions that has produced prominent academic and executive leaders within and beyond the university. He commended the idea of the Robotics Summer School, describing it as an inspiring initiative that helps nurture children's skills and build their scientific and creative capacities from an early age. He directed that the experience be studied for wider implementation across Benha University campuses, highlighting its role in discovering talent, refining young people's abilities, and encouraging innovative thinking. He stressed the importance of practical skill development and real project implementation to give students a competitive edge and strengthen their professional portfolios in line with labor market needs.
Prof. Gamal El‑Saied expressed appreciation for the closing ceremony and valued naming the competition after the late Dr. Ibrahim Shaaban, in recognition of his significant scientific and academic contributions in Egypt and abroad. He emphasized that such competitions foster intellectual growth, discover talented students, and promote innovation and teamwork.
Dr. Mohamed Said welcomed attendees and expressed gratitude for the continuous support provided by the university administration to the Faculty of Engineering at Shoubra in its various scientific activities and events. He affirmed the faculty's commitment to organizing initiatives and competitions that enhance students' skills in modern technological fields.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, prof. El‑Gizawy and his colleagues presented certificates of completion to children participating in the summer school, and honored members of the judging panel as well as the winning teams and students of the Dr. Ibrahim Shaaban Competition, in recognition of their excellence and scientific creativity.
