Benha Engineering Students Win First Place in “Made in Egypt” Competition for the Second Consecutive Year

Students of the Faculty of Engineering at Benha University achieved a new milestone as their graduation project PalletiX 4.0 won first place in the 20th edition of the Made in Egypt (MIE) competition. This marks the second consecutive year that students from the Mechatronics Engineering program have secured the top position.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, stated that this achievement reflects the outstanding level of innovation and engineering design among the university's students. He emphasized the university's strong commitment to supporting students with innovative ideas and projects, linking academic learning to industry needs and labor market demands.
He added that winning first place for two consecutive years in “Made in Egypt” is a testament to the quality of applied education and practical training offered at Benha University. The institution will continue to provide a supportive environment for innovation and research, transforming student ideas into practical, implementable projects.
Prof. Gehan Abdelhadi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, described the victory as a distinguished example of connecting scientific research with practical applications. She highlighted the importance of encouraging students to transform their engineering and research ideas into innovative solutions that can advance industry.
Dr. Zeinab Faisal, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, expressed pride in the achievement, noting that PalletiX 4.0 is the result of dedicated efforts by students, faculty, and project supervisors. She affirmed that the repeated success in “Made in Egypt” reflects the faculty's focus on project-based learning, hands-on training, and nurturing student innovation in line with industry requirements and the shift toward smart engineering applications.
The PalletiX 4.0 project is an intelligent system for industrial product stacking with predictive maintenance. It automates stacking processes in industrial environments while monitoring system conditions and predicting potential failures before they occur. The project was funded by the Innovation Support Fund.
The supervising team included Dr. Mohamed Gaafar, Engineer Ayman Sayed, and Engineer Mohamed Ashraf. The student team comprised: Ahmed Suleiman, Ahmed Lashien, Ahmed Shaalan, Ahmed El-Ganzouri, Islam Ahmed, Aya Mohamed, Amira Rabie, and Iman El-Robigy.
This achievement builds on last year's success, when the WADJET project won first place in the MIE competition, making Benha Engineering the top winner for two consecutive years. It highlights the excellence of mechatronics students and their ability to combine academic knowledge with practical application and engineering innovation.
