Results of the International Publication and Citation Competition – July 2026 Cycle

Prof. Gehan Abdelhadi, Vice President of Benha University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, announced—under the auspices of Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University—the results of the International Publication and Citation Competition for the July 2026 cycle. The competition is part of the university's efforts to enhance research output and encourage faculty members to publish in globally recognized scientific journals.
She noted that a total of 594 research papers were submitted across 13 faculties: Agriculture, Commerce, Computers & Artificial Intelligence, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Physical Therapy, Science, Engineering (Benha), Engineering (Shoubra), Arts, Sports Science, Nursing, and Applied Arts. Of these, 294 papers were classified as Q1 (49.5%), reflecting the high quality of the university's research output. The submissions also included 165 Q2 papers, 70 Q3 papers, and 38 Q4 papers, in addition to one book and ten book chapters published by international publishers.
For the Citation Competition, 157 faculty members participated via Google Scholar.
The university has opened the window for appeals for one week from the date of publication, ending Friday, 21 August 2026. Appeals must be submitted to: vp.pg@bu.edu.eg, including the applicant's name, faculty, and research number (as listed in the published results sheet). Appeals lacking these details will not be considered. Final results will be announced after the appeal period closes, and late submissions will not be accepted.
Faculty members will be placed on the exclusion list and barred from receiving research support incentives if:
Their Google Scholar accounts contain publications not authored by them.
They submit incorrect data or reuse papers that have already received financial rewards in previous cycles.
They provide incomplete or empty declarations, or fail to list all co-authors from within the university, including registered postgraduate students (master's or doctoral) who are not faculty members or assistants.
A copy of the required declaration form is attached to the announcement. Compliance with this form is mandatory.
Important Note: Beginning with the January 2027 cycle, all submissions must cite at least two references from research published in Benha University journals (from any issue). This requirement applies to papers published after July 2026 and is a prerequisite for eligibility for international publication rewards.
