Benha University Hospitals Deliver Over 1.6 Million Medical Services in One Year: 1.63 Million Beneficiaries of Healthcare and Treatment Services

Benha University Hospitals announced the outcomes of their medical and service performance for the period from August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026. The report revealed that 1,633,616 citizens benefited from a wide range of medical, therapeutic, and diagnostic services, underscoring the hospitals' vital role in serving the people of Qalyubia and neighboring governorates.
Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, affirmed that the university hospitals are among the most important arms of the institution in community service. He emphasized that supporting and developing the hospitals remains a top priority, through expanding specialized medical services, enhancing infrastructure, and upgrading medical equipment and supplies. He noted that the year's achievements reflect the dedication of medical, nursing, technical, and administrative teams, and reiterated the university's commitment to sustaining development plans to ensure high-quality healthcare, alongside the hospitals' educational, training, and research mission in preparing medical cadres.
Dr. Mohamed El-Ashhab, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, highlighted that the figures achieved during the year reflect the scale of continuous work across departments and specialties. He pointed out that the hospitals have expanded their medical, diagnostic, and surgical services, while maintaining a strong focus on improving patient care quality.
Dr. Amr El-Dakhakhny, Executive Director of Benha University Hospitals, explained that performance indicators demonstrate the breadth of daily services provided. The total beneficiaries reached 1,633,616, including:
265,472 cases in outpatient clinics and pediatrics
238,181 cases in emergency and reception departments
37,343 cases in inpatient wards
He added that the hospitals conducted 604,323 laboratory tests, 230,620 radiology procedures, 184,650 ECGs, and 1,108 EEGs, in addition to 21,223 surgical operations. They also received 5,361 cases for endoscopy procedures, provided specialized care for 9,996 oncology patients, and treated 9,572 cases in central and specialized clinics.
Furthermore, the hospitals delivered dialysis services to 3,284 adult patients and 612 children, while neonatal units cared for 1,179 infants. Dr. El-Dakhakhny stressed that maintaining these service levels is the result of continuous coordination across medical and administrative sectors, with a strong focus on operational efficiency and improving patient experience.
