Benha University Organizes Free Veterinary Convoy in Arab Al-Aliqat, Khanka

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Benha University organized a free veterinary convoy in Arab Al-Aliqat village, Khanka, Qalyubia Governorate. The initiative comes as part of the university's community role in serving local residents.
The convoy was held under the auspices of prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of the University; prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Dr. Abdel Fattah Monjed Selim, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Ihab El-Nahhas, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, confirmed that the convoy was attended by Dr. Hani Shams from the Qalyubia Veterinary Directorate, and coordinated by Ms. Rania Moataz, Assistant Secretary-General of the University for Community Service and Environment. He extended thanks to Dr. Mohamed Mostafa Kandil, Director of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, along with the hospital team and the faculty's clinical and academic departments, for their efforts in ensuring the success of the convoy and delivering free veterinary services to citizens.
The convoy included medical examinations and check-ups for various animals, with free medication provided to all treated cases. It also offered veterinary awareness sessions on viral diseases, the importance of regular vaccinations, and preventive measures.
A total of 158 citizens benefited from the convoy. Examinations covered 73 cases of buffalo and cattle, 52 cases of sheep and goats, and 29 cases of equines. Additionally, ultrasound was used to examine 85 farm animals. The convoy also checked 1,282 birds, including chickens, ducks, pigeons, and rabbits, as well as one pet case. Laboratory tests were conducted, and necessary medications were dispensed free of charge.
